Q: Can I book a food tour as a gift?

Yes - our regular tours can be booked as a gift. We will create a personalized Gift Voucher and email it to you. Our gift vouchers can be used for a period of up to 3 months from the date of purchase.

Q: Can you cater for special diets?

Our tours are designed to showcase a variety of regional produce and local suppliers. If you have specific requirements, contact us and we’ll do our best to cater for you.

Q: Are all your tours walking tours?

We run walking tours and will be adding self-drive tours soon.

Our walking tours run approximately 3 hrs, with several sit-down stops and a sit-down lunch at the end of the tour.

Our self-drive tours are curated by a tour guide with a commentary provided live via UHF handsets. We travel to several regional locations stopping at several venues to eat with other tour guests and meet the providores.

Q: Do you have Covid-safe measures in place?

Yes, Bite Food Tours has a COVID-19 Safety Plan and follows COVID Safe procedures on all our tours. Read our COVID-Safe information here.

Cashless Payments

We can only accept online bookings and payments via our website.
We no longer accept cash payments, or guest walk ups.

When making a booking please provide the following details so that we can contact you with any updates, and for contact tracing purposes:

• Your most frequently used email address
• Your mobile phone number

Booking Confirmations

Confirmation of your booking will be emailed or texted to you within 24 hr of your booking.

If you haven't received a confirmation email we ask that you
• Check your Spam email folder
• Email awia@bitefoodtours.com to advise us.

Walking Tours

Our walking tours cover an average of 2 km (1.2 miles) and require a moderate level of fitness.

All our tours include a bit of walking as it’s a fun and relaxed way to explore a city up close, and you can enjoy street art along the way.

Please advise us if you require mobility assistance before you book a tour.

Self-drive Tours

At the beginning of the tour our groups meets up, and your tour guide will give you the locations and information about the venues we'll visit to eat.

Our self-drive tours are curated by a tour guide and your real-time commentary will be provided live via UHF handsets.

We meet up at several regional locations to eat and chat with the other tour guests, and talk to providores.

Tour group sizes

Our food tours cater for small, personalised groups.

Due to social distancing restrictions, we've reduced our tour groups to a maximum of 6 people, and minimum of 2 people.

If we don’t meet our 2 people minimum our tour won't go ahead. You'll be notified by email or phone, and you can choose to either reschedule, buy a ticket for a friend, or request a refund.

Weather

• Our tours run rain or shine.
• Exceptions include extreme or inclement weather predictions, and you will be contacted prior to the tour so that you can reschedule, or request a refund.

What to bring with you on tour

• A hat, sunglasses, a bottle of water, smartphone and a camera
• Wear comfortable walking shoes, no thongs or flip flops
• If rain is predicted please bring an umbrella

If you have special dietary requirements, please contact us by email before you book a tour. We try to accommodate dietary needs, but it isn’t always possible, depending on the vendors we visit.

Please consider a customized Private Tour which offers more flexibility to create a delicious tour that meets your specific needs.

Cancellations – Regular tours

Cancellations made by you up to 24 hrs before the tour will be refunded minus any third party booking fee (e.g. Eventbrite). Instead consider rescheduling to another date or another tour, or gifting your ticket to a friend.

Same Day Cancellations

• Cancellations made by you on the day of the tour cannot be refunded
• Tour 'no shows' on the day of the tour cannot be refunded.

Cancellations – Private Tours with a customized itinerary

Cancellations for customized tours require three days notice to reschedule, so we can reorganize catering and venue bookings, to provide you with the best food experience. Or you can transfer your tour tickets to a friend.

We will refund 50% of your booking with a minimum of 7 days notice before the date of the tour.

All tours

We will not issue a refund if you miss a tour due to the following reasons:

• You didn’t check or respond to our email or text tour updates or changes
• You provided incorrect details in your booking

Tour Start time and Meeting Place

The tour start time and location is provided on the tour event booking page, and in your Booking Confirmation email.

We aim to provide a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable tour for you, but please be aware that we are not responsible for or liable to any of the following:

• Any injury or illness, including sunstroke
• Dietary reactions due to food allergies
• Any loss or damage to property
